Awareness Among Families and Communities Increasing

Speaking about the campaign, Sub-Coordinator Mohit Diwan said that the main objective of the Yudh Nasheyan Virudh campaign is to break the network of drugs and protect young people from addiction by guiding them towards a healthy and productive future.

He said that regular awareness activities in villages and wards have helped increase public awareness about the harmful effects of drugs. Families are also becoming more conscious about the future of their children and are coming forward to support efforts against drug abuse.

Mohit Diwan appealed to residents to extend maximum cooperation to the campaign and become active partners in creating a drug-free environment.

More People Coming Forward for De-Addiction Treatment

He further said that the increasing number of people reaching de-addiction centres for treatment is an indication that people are increasingly coming forward to address the problem of addiction instead of hiding it.

He emphasised that the fight against drugs is not the responsibility of the government alone but is a collective responsibility of families, communities and every section of society.

He said that coordinated efforts by families, society and the government machinery can help Punjab move towards the goal of becoming a drug-free state.

The ongoing Yudh Nasheyan Virudh awareness campaign continues to focus on community participation, early awareness, rehabilitation and encouraging young people to choose sports, education and positive activities over drugs.
