Teachers and readers appreciate efforts to promote Punjabi language and literature

Rupnagar, October 27: The book exhibition organised by the District Language Office, Rupnagar, at the District Administrative Complex, Rupnagar, received an overwhelming response from the public. A large number of people visited the exhibition and showed keen interest in books related to Punjabi language and literature. Teachers also appreciated the initiative taken by the Language Department to promote reading and encourage the use of Punjabi in education.

During the exhibition, a science teacher particularly praised Botany Science, published by the Punjab State University Text Book Board. He said that although he was nearing retirement, he had the opportunity to explore a book that presented a scientific subject effectively in the Punjabi language.

He observed that such books provide students with a valuable opportunity to understand scientific concepts and acquire knowledge in their mother tongue. He also appreciated the efforts to make educational material available in Punjabi, enabling students to learn complex subjects in a language they understand well.

On the occasion, S. Amandeep Singh, Chairman of the Trade Commission of Halqa Rupnagar, also visited the exhibition and appreciated the Language Department’s efforts to promote Punjabi and spread knowledge among the public.

The exhibition highlighted the importance of the mother tongue not only as a medium of communication but also as a strong foundation for progress in science, education and other fields of knowledge.

The initiative by the District Language Office, Rupnagar, to connect students, teachers and general readers with Punjabi literature and educational books was widely appreciated. Such efforts play an important role in strengthening the status of Punjabi as a language of learning, scientific understanding and intellectual development.
