# Special Blood Donation Camp Held at Gurdwara Head Darbar Kot Puran Tibbi Sahib ### Around 25 Units of Blood Voluntarily Donated During the Camp **Rupnagar, September 17:** A special blood donation camp was organised today at **Gurdwara Head Darbar Kot Puran Tibbi Sahib, Rupnagar**, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the State Blood Transfusion Council, Punjab, in connection with **National Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2026**. Dedicated to the service of humanity, the camp aimed to create awareness among the general public about voluntary blood donation and help ensure a regular supply of blood for patients in need. The camp was organised under the guidance of **Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Vivek Kataria**. The arrangements for the camp were made by the **Life Line Blood Donor Society, Rupnagar**, while the important technical task of blood collection was carried out by the expert medical team of the **Blood Centre, Civil Hospital Rupnagar** with due care and professionalism. The **Indian Red Cross Society, Rupnagar**, also extended its valuable support during the camp. Speaking on the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Vivek Kataria said that blood donation is a noble act of service as donated blood can help save the precious life of a person in need. He appealed to young people and members of the general public to come forward voluntarily for blood donation so that no patient has to face difficulties due to a shortage of blood in hospitals. He also highlighted the importance of **National Voluntary Blood Donation Day** and encouraged people to contribute towards maintaining adequate blood stocks through voluntary donation. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees who had come to pay obeisance at the Gurdwara Sahib, along with local residents and youth. Following all necessary health and safety protocols, **around 25 units of blood were voluntarily donated** during the camp. The expert team from the Blood Centre conducted the required health screening of each donor before collecting blood. Refreshments were also provided to the blood donors after donation. Office-bearers of the **Life Line Blood Donor Society** encouraged the donors and honoured them with certificates of appreciation for their valuable contribution towards the service of humanity.
