Meeting of Civil and Police Officials Held to Identify Sensitive Areas Ahead of Punjab Assembly Elections 2027

Rupnagar, September 17: A meeting of civil and police officials was held at the District Administrative Complex, Rupnagar, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Rupnagar, Aditya Dachalwal, to review the sensitivity mapping process and identify sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations ahead of the Punjab Assembly Elections 2027.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Aditya Dachalwal and Senior Superintendent of Police Maninder Singh held detailed discussions with the officials regarding the identification of sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations under the sensitivity mapping exercise.

The officials reviewed the security arrangements required to prevent any untoward incident during the polling process, strengthen the sense of security among voters, and ensure that the electoral process remains completely fair, transparent and peaceful.

The meeting also discussed the deployment of civil police personnel and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) at identified sensitive polling stations as per requirements.

The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer said that it is the foremost responsibility of the administration to provide every voter with a safe and conducive environment to exercise their right to vote without fear, pressure or influence during the elections.

He said that all arrangements related to the electoral process would be reviewed well in advance and necessary measures would be taken to ensure that the Punjab Assembly Elections 2027 are conducted in a smooth, peaceful and successful manner.

Among those present at the meeting were Electoral Registration Officer Rupnagar Jaspreet Singh; Electoral Registration Officer Sri Chamkaur Sahib Pradeep Singh Bains; Electoral Registration Officer Sri Anandpur Sahib Sukhpal Singh; SP (Headquarters) Harsimrat Singh; DSP Rupnagar Deepinder Singh; DSP Morinda Gurjit Singh; DSP Sri Chamkaur Sahib Manjit Singh; Election Tehsildar Palwinder Singh, along with other election staff and concerned officials.
