Sri Anandpur Sahib 01 October : Voluntary blood donation is the greatest donation. Whenever one feels that a precious life has been saved by donating one’s blood, one gets mental peace.
There is no substitute for human blood in the world, when needed, only blood donation given by a blood donor helps in saving a human life. A healthy common person can donate blood repeatedly in his life during the specified period.
These thoughts were expressed by Dr. KP Singh, Senior Medical Officer, Bhai Jaita Ji Civil Hospital Sri Anandpur Sahib while addressing the voluntary blood donors today. As per the directions of Punjab State Blood Council, National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was celebrated at Bhai Jaita Ji Civil Hospital in collaboration with Sikh Missionary College Sri Anandpur Sahib. Dr. Rajesh Kumar BTO motivated the youth to donate blood and informed them about the importance of blood donation. The youth who continuously donated blood were honored.
After this, a poster making competition was organized by the students of Dr. Dyal Singh Memorial School of Nursing showing the importance of blood donation and they were honored. After this, an awareness rally was taken out by the students of Sikh Missionary College and Dr. Dyal Singh Memorial School of Nursing to motivate them about blood donation, which was flagged off by Senior Medical Officer Dr. KP Singh and he said that voluntary blood donation is the greatest donation.
On this occasion, Dr. Rajesh Kumar BTO, Dr. Suhail Basoa, Dr. Harvinder Singh, Dr. Yukti, Rana Bakhtabar Singh, Surinderpal Singh, Anita, Aradhana, Monika, Manjit Kaur, Parmita Sinha, Raj Kumari, Kulwant Kaur were present.
