Special screening camp organized under Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Campaign at Civil Hospital Sri Anandpur Sahib
Sri Anandpur Sahib 09 June: As per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Rupnagar and under the leadership of Dr. Harminder Singh Senior Medical Officer, a special camp was organized by the Health Department Punjab under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Matritva Abhiyan at the local Bhai Jaita Ji Civil Hospital Sri Anandpur Sahib. In this camp, special check-up of pregnant women was done and necessary health services were provided to them.
On this occasion, Gynecologist Dr. Jaspreet Gaur informed that as per the instructions of the government, a special camp is organized on the 9th of every month for complete check-up of pregnant women. He said that this campaign was started in the year 2016 and on June 9 this year, its 10 years have been successfully completed.
During the camp, pregnant women were given important information regarding care during pregnancy. In addition, special screening of high-risk women was done and necessary tests, medicines, treatment and referral services were provided to them free of cost.
Dr. Aparajita Dharmani gave a message to the women and said that every pregnant woman should get her regular check-up done and should take a balanced diet along with adequate sleep. She said that only a healthy mother can give birth to a healthy child and delivery should always be done in a hospital. On this occasion, Dr. Amarinder Singh, Mini, Kulwinder Kaur and all ASHA workers were present.
