Sri Anandpur Sahib 17th September: Health Department Punjab under the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Rupnagar and under the leadership of Dr. Harinder Singh Senior Medical Officer celebrated World Patient Safety Day at the local Bhai Jaita Ji Civil Hospital Sri Anandpur Sahib. This year, the day was celebrated under the theme of ‘Safe Care for Non-Communicable Diseases’. Its main objective is to prevent negligence during the treatment of patients and to further raise the standard of health services.
On this occasion, expert doctors gave detailed information to the patients regarding infection control, proper use of medicines and patients’ rights during treatment. They said that the harm caused to patients due to unsafe health services can be prevented to a large extent by adopting proper awareness, precautions and scientific methods.
Health experts said that patient safety is an important part of the health system and for this, joint efforts of doctors, nursing staff, paramedical staff and patients are necessary. The medical and paramedical staff of the hospital reiterated their commitment to provide a safe, transparent and quality treatment environment to the patients.
On this occasion, Dr. Pankaj Nihait, Dr. Akashdeep Singh, Poonam Arora Nursing Sister, Pardeep Kumar, Jasmeet Kaur and all the medical and para-medical staff of the hospital were present. During the event, the patients and their family members were made aware about safe health services.
