Sri Chamkaur Sahib, September 30: Today, a stubble management camp was organized in Makauna Kalan and Salempur villages of Sub Division Sri Chamkaur Sahib under the chairmanship of SDM Sri Chamkaur Sahib Sri Amrik Singh Sidhu, PCS.
On this occasion, the SDM while addressing the farmers of the villages said that burning stubble reduces the fertility of the fields, pollutes the environment and people traveling on the roads also have to face serious problems. Therefore, the farmer brothers were appealed to plough the fields instead of burning stubble, which not only increases the yield of the fields but also improves the health of the soil.

He said that farmers can get bales of stubble prepared through balers, which can be used as fodder for animals. SDM It was also informed that the Department of Agriculture has subsidized machines like super seeder, baler etc. and meetings are being held with the machine owners from time to time so that the farmers can get facilities for proper management of stubble.
On this occasion, the farmers were also appealed to harvest the paddy on time and not bring paddy with high moisture content to the market, so that they do not have to face any kind of problem.
Agricultural Extension Officer Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Agriculture Inspector, Gagandeep Singh Kanungo, Jaspreet Singh Patwari and other employees were also present in this event.
