Rupnagar Police launched “Operation Seal-20” by setting up 07 interstate checkpoints on the border of Himachal Pradesh with Rupnagar

01 case registered under NDPS Act and a person was arrested with 150 grams of opium

Rupnagar, September 20: Senior Superintendent of Police Rupnagar S. Gulneet Singh Khurana informed that under the campaign launched by the Punjab government against drugs and in the interest of security among the general public, under the directions of Director General of Police Punjab Mr. Gaurav Yadav, to eliminate drugs from the society and in the series of campaigns launched against bad elements, “Operation Seal-20” was launched by setting up 07 interstate checkpoints on the border of Himachal Pradesh adjoining district Rupnagar under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police Rupnagar Range, Rupnagar S. Harcharan Singh Bhullar.

He said that in this operation, 02 SPs, 04 DSPs. 07 inspectors and about 105 police personnel were deployed. He said that during this operation, 01 case was registered under the NDPS Act, in which 01 person was arrested and 150 grams of opium was recovered from him. Apart from this, 22 suspects were rounded up and questioned, 159 vehicles were checked, out of which 29 vehicles were issued traffic challans and 01 vehicle was stopped.

S. Gulneet Singh Khurana told that Rupnagar Police has already started a special campaign and is conducting daily patrols, blockades and searches, while bad elements are being arrested, cases are being registered against those involved in the drug trade and recovery is being made.

The Senior Superintendent of Police said that no mischievous and bad element will be allowed to raise its head. Law and order will be maintained at all costs within the district. The campaign launched by the Rupnagar Police will continue in the same manner in the future as well.
