Swimming Championship organized at Government Swimming Complex Rupnagar under Sports Homeland Punjab-2026

The players participated with enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship.

Rupnagar, September 29: Swimming Championship was organized at Government Swimming Complex Rupnagar under the Sports Homeland Punjab-2026. The championship was inaugurated by Retired Deputy Director (Sports) Punjab S. Surjit Singh Sandhu. On this occasion, the players participated in various swimming competitions with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Addressing the players on this occasion, S. Surjit Singh Sandhu said that sports play an important role in the all-round development of the youth. Through sports, discipline, self-confidence, spirit of cooperation and the ability to face challenges are developed in the youth. He motivated the players to hone their talent with full effort, discipline and sportsmanship.
The championship was organized under the leadership of District Sports Officer S. Jagjivan Singh Gill. Convener Mr. Naresh Rajoria and Co-Convenor Mr. Pinkash Dhiman ensured smooth arrangements for the swimming competitions.
On this occasion, international swimmer Jashandeep Singh, international kabaddi player Narpinder Singh, Dr. Upendra Chaudhary, Aman Kumar, Ishu Bala, Charandeep Singh, Inderjit Singh (Ladi), Rishu Goyal (Sports Department) and Gurdit Singh Bala were specially present.
Regarding the results of the swimming competitions, in the 50 meter backstroke, under-14 boys competition, Reyansh Kumar won the gold medal by securing the first position, Anshuman Chaudhary won the silver medal by securing the second position and Jasjit Singh won the bronze medal by securing the third position.
In the 50m freestyle swimming, under-14 girls’ competition, Avleen Kaur won the gold medal by securing first place, Simarjit Kaur won the silver medal by securing second place and Harsirat Kaur won the bronze medal by securing third place.
Similarly, in the 50 meter freestyle swimming, under-17 boys competition, Arshdeep Singh won the gold medal by securing the first position, Jasmanjot Singh won the silver medal by securing the second position and Samar Bhola won the bronze medal by securing the third position.
In the 50-meter freestyle swimming, under-17 girls’ competition, Arshdeep Kaur won the gold medal by securing first place, Arzu Sheikh won the silver medal by securing second place, and Rashmi won the bronze medal by securing third place.
On this occasion, the winning players were congratulated and wished for a bright future for them. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by the players during the championship were appreciated. Such sports competitions provide a suitable platform for young players to showcase their sporting talent, develop a sense of competition and make their mark at a high level.
