Players showed excellent performance in the district level competitions of Sports Homeland Punjab-2026
Rupnagar : District level competitions of various sports are being organized in Rupnagar district under the ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2026’ Season-4 being organized by the Sports Department of the Punjab Government. Players from across the district are participating enthusiastically in these competitions and are showcasing their sporting talent.
District Sports Officer Rupnagar Jagjivan Singh Gill said that under the district level competitions, athletics, basketball, kho-kho, tennis ball, cricket and football competitions are being held at Nehru Stadium, Rupnagar, hockey competitions at Hawks Club, volleyball, kick boxing and chess competitions at Government Polytechnic College, handball competitions at Khalsa School, shooting competitions at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy and netball competitions at Neta School.
He said that the players performed brilliantly in various categories of the athletics competitions held today. In the 100 meters race of the boys in the 21 years age group, Jaskaran Singh won first, Gaurav Gupta won second and Rajwinder Singh won third place. In the 100 meters race of the girls in the same age group, Karitka won first, Bharti Kumari won second and Harpreet Kaur won third place.
In another 100m race, Manreet Kaur won first, Sandeep Kaur second and Harleen Kaur third. In the boys’ 100m race, Devvishwajit Singh won first, Ashish Kumar second and Ekamdeep Singh third.
Similarly, in the boys’ 60-meter race, Nishandeep Singh won first, Daljit Singh won second and Chetanpreet Singh Mann won third. In the boys’ 17-year-old age group, Japjot Singh won first and Jasdeep Singh won second.
District Sports Officer Jagjivan Singh Gill said that through ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’, the players of the district are getting a platform to hone their sports talent and make their mark at a high level. He said that the huge participation and enthusiasm of the players in various sports competitions will help in further strengthening the sports culture in Punjab.
