Consumers in areas with natural gas facility through pipeline should register soon – Dr. Kimmy Vaneet Kaur Sethi

Rupnagar, September 29: With an aim to ensure availability of cooking gas and promote the use of piped natural gas to homes, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, is encouraging the urban gas distribution companies to provide maximum piped natural gas connections in their respective geographical areas.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited is operating the city gas distribution service in Rupnagar district. The company’s Northern Region Head Mr. Lala Prabhu Dhakolia recently met the District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Rupnagar Dr. Kimmy Vaneet Kaur Sethi and sought cooperation in encouraging the eligible consumers of the district to get natural gas connections through pipes. Dr. Kimmy Vaneet Kaur Sethi assured all possible cooperation in this regard.
Dr. Kimmy Vaneet Kaur Sethi informed that as per the provisions of the Natural Gas and Petroleum Products Distribution Orders, 2026, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has already informed the concerned consumers of District Rupnagar about the availability of piped natural gas facility in their respective societies and areas through press releases and registered notices.
He said that despite repeated information and notices being issued, some consumers residing in designated areas with natural gas facility through pipeline have not yet completed the required registration process to get gas supply nor have they contacted the concerned company. As per the information issued earlier, the stipulated 90 days notice period has expired on 15th September 2026.
District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Rupnagar said that in view of this, the cooking gas connections of consumers coming to the designated areas with the facility of natural gas through pipeline and who have not registered for this facility have been closed. Such consumers will not be able to book their next cooking gas cylinder.
The concerned consumers have been advised to complete their pending registration process as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience and get their natural gas connection through piped gas. In this regard, they can contact their nearest Bharat Petroleum Consumer Center or get registered through the camps being organized in their respective societies.
Dr. Kimmy Vaneet Kaur Sethi said that for registration in Rupnagar city, consumers can contact the SCF-9 Consumer Center located in front of Kamal Nursing Home in Suncity-1. For this, they can contact on 7340998992 and 01881-505487. The Consumer Center located near Holy City Hotel on Academy Road in Sri Anandpur Sahib can be contacted. In this regard, they can be contacted on 6280884545. The Consumer Center located at 105, Shivalik Avenue, Phase-1A, Ajouli Mor in Nangal can be contacted. In this regard, they can be contacted on 7087640117 . Dr. Kimmy Vaneet Kaur Sethi, District Controller, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Rupnagar has appealed to all the concerned consumers to complete the necessary registration process without any delay so that they do not face any kind of inconvenience regarding gas supply. She also appealed for their cooperation in promoting the use of piped natural gas in the notified service areas.
