Harjot Singh Bains listened to the problems of the people during a public meeting in village Lamlehri.
Sri Anandpur Sahib, September 22: Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains met the villagers face to face during a public meeting organized at village Lamlehri and listened to their problems. On this occasion, the villagers brought to the attention of the minister issues related to basic amenities, roads, water, streets and drains, electricity, health and other public interest. Harjot Singh Bains listened to the problems raised by the people seriously and on the spot interacted with the officials of the concerned departments and issued necessary guidelines for the solution of the problems. He said that so that the people do not have to go through unnecessary rounds of government offices to solve their problems, therefore, people are being reached directly through public meetings.
The Cabinet Minister said that it is his main responsibility to maintain direct contact with the people of the constituency and understand their problems at the ground level. He said that it is necessary not only to listen to the problems expressed by the people, but also to make the departmental officers accountable for their solution. He asked the officers to deal with the matters related to the people on priority basis and ensure quality and transparency in development works. Bains said that the government is continuously making efforts for the all-round development of the villages.
On this occasion, Harjot Singh Bains also shared his views with the villagers about the pro-people works, development works and public welfare achievements done by the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann during the last four years. He said that the government has worked at various levels to strengthen education, health, infrastructure, water, roads, sanitation and other public facilities. He said that the government’s aim is to extend the benefits of development works to every section of the society and every village of the state. The works are being given practical form by planning development according to the needs of the people.
Harjot Singh Bains said that the Punjab government is continuously working to meet the expectations of the people and no deficiency will be left in the development of the villages of the constituency. He said that direct interaction with the people is helpful in making the performance of the government more effective. He assured the villagers that action will be taken by coordinating with the concerned departments to resolve every legitimate problem that came up during the public meeting. The villagers also thanked the minister for listening to the problems on the spot and giving directions to the officials.
