Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains Inaugurates Various Development Projects at Gambhirpur Upper
- Foundation Stones Laid for Community Centre, Gym, Sports Room, Panchayat Ghar and Other Projects
- Development Works Started in Ward Nos. 1 and 4 and Construction of Four Rooms at Government High School
- New Classroom Inaugurated; Punjab Government Committed to Overall Development of the Village: Harjot Singh Bains
Nangal, September 27: As part of the development works being undertaken by the Punjab Government for the comprehensive development of villages, Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains inaugurated various development projects and laid foundation stones for several new projects at Gambhirpur Upper.
On the occasion, the Cabinet Minister inaugurated and initiated projects including a Community Centre, Gym, Sports Room and Panchayat Ghar, besides other development works. Development works for the streets in Ward Nos. 1 and 4 were also initiated.
Harjot Singh Bains said that special attention is being given to strengthening basic infrastructure in villages and providing people with better social, sports and other public facilities.
Harjot Singh Bains said that a grant of Rs. 10 lakh has been provided for the Community Centre. He said that projects such as the Panchayat Ghar would play an important role in fulfilling the common needs of village residents. The Community Centre would provide residents with a facility for organising social and community events, while the Gym and Sports Room would offer young people a better environment to maintain a healthy lifestyle and participate in sports.
He said that rural development is not being limited merely to roads and streets. Social, sporting and community needs of residents are also being incorporated into development plans.
On the occasion, the foundation stone for the construction of four new rooms at Government High School, Gambhirpur Upper, was also laid. A newly constructed classroom at the school was also inaugurated.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen infrastructure in government schools and provide students with a better educational environment. He said that the availability of new rooms and other facilities according to the requirements of schools would provide students and teachers with a better environment for teaching and learning.
While initiating development works on the streets in Ward Nos. 1 and 4, the Cabinet Minister said that priority is being given to completing works related to village streets, drains and other basic infrastructure. He said that there would be no compromise on the quality of development works and concerned officials have been directed to complete the projects within the stipulated time.
He said that more development works would also be undertaken in villages according to the requirements of the people.
Harjot Singh Bains said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously working to connect villages with modern infrastructure and better facilities.
He said that the development projects initiated at Gambhirpur Upper would help fulfil the long-standing needs of village residents. He assured the people that development works would continue and no effort would be spared for the overall development of the village.
Panchayat representatives, officials, school staff and a large number of village residents were present on the occasion.
Among those present were Sarpanch Madhu Bala, Panch Anju Bala, Pooja Devi, Meera Devi, Jyoti Saroop, Dharampal, Advocate Neeraj Sharma, Sukhram, Mahinder Kumar, Daya Singh, Vikram Sharma, Rajiv Sharma, Sunita Dharmani, Kamal Krishan, Shiv Kumar, Jaspal Sharma, Lekh Ram, Ranjan Devi, Satnam Kaur, Manish Kumar, Narinder Kumar and Telu Ram, among others.
