Theme ‘Indian Energy Basket 2047: Prospects and Challenges’; Students from Classes 8 to 10 Participate

Rupnagar, October 4: The results of the Block-Level National Science Seminar 2026 competitions held across District Rupnagar have been announced. The competitions were conducted on October 3 in all ten blocks of the district. The top two position holders from each block will now participate in the District-Level Science Seminar on October 6.

The seminar is being organised by the National Science Centre, National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, New Delhi, for students of Classes 8 to 10. This year’s theme is “Indian Energy Basket 2047: Prospects and Challenges.”

Students made presentations on India’s energy basket by 2047, energy security, coal, oil and gas, solar and wind energy, nuclear power, green hydrogen and energy storage, highlighting their prospects as well as challenges.

The block-level competitions were organised under the guidance of District Education Officer (Secondary), Rupnagar, Prem Kumar Mittal, and Deputy District Education Officer Inderjit Singh. The competitions were conducted under the supervision of DRC Vipin Kataria, with the support of the respective Block Nodal Officers (BNOs) and Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs).

The District-Level Science Seminar will be held at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Rupnagar, under the supervision of DRC Vipin Kataria and Principal Sandeep Kaur.

The National Science Seminar is expected to be held at the National Science Centre, New Delhi, towards the end of October. The winner of the Rupnagar district-level competition will qualify for the next stage of the competition.
