Additional Deputy Commissioner Reviews Ongoing Development Works in District

Officials directed to complete development projects within stipulated timelines while ensuring quality

Rupnagar, September 29: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Chandrajyoti Singh today reviewed various ongoing development works and schemes being implemented in the district under the Rural Development and Panchayats Department at the District Administrative Complex. She directed the concerned officials to ensure that all development works initiated by the government for public convenience are completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high standards of quality.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that there would be no compromise on the quality and timely completion of development works. She said the primary objective of government schemes is to provide better basic amenities to the people, and unnecessary delays or negligence in the execution of works would not be tolerated. She directed officials to regularly inspect ongoing development projects at the ground level and continuously monitor their progress.

During the meeting, detailed progress of projects being carried out under the MP Local Area Development Scheme, Rangla Punjab Vikas Scheme, 15th Finance Commission and other development schemes was reviewed. The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed that pending Utilisation Certificates (UCs) related to completed development works be submitted immediately so that the release of funds for the next stage is not delayed.

The progress of Solid Waste Management projects being implemented in villages for the scientific disposal of solid waste was also reviewed. She directed officials to accelerate the implementation of these projects, stating that proper management of solid waste is essential for ensuring a clean and healthy rural environment.

The meeting also reviewed the installation of solar street lights in villages, establishment of open gyms, mapping of funds released for model rural playgrounds and other development works being carried out under the Panchayati Raj Department.

Chandrajyoti Singh also reviewed the progress of works under the Rangla Punjab Vikas Scheme and the 15th Finance Commission, along with the status of related Utilisation Certificates. She instructed officials to ensure that funds received for development works are utilised strictly according to government guidelines and that all necessary records and Utilisation Certificates are completed and submitted on time.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that expanding basic amenities in rural areas, strengthening sports infrastructure for youth and providing a clean environment are among the key priorities of the administration. She emphasised that every development scheme should be implemented in a transparent, effective and time-bound manner to achieve these objectives.

She said that the District Administration is committed to people-centric development and is continuously monitoring the implementation of government schemes to ensure that their benefits reach every eligible beneficiary and that development works are completed within the prescribed timelines.
