District Public Relations Officer Karan Mehta motivated the players to join sports and stay away from drugs.
Ropar, October 1 : Kickboxing competitions were organized today at Government Polytechnic College, Ropar as part of the series of district-level sports competitions under the Sports Homeland Punjab-2026 (Season-4). Players of different age groups participated enthusiastically in these competitions and showcased their sporting talent.
On this occasion, District Public Relations Officer Mr. Karan Mehta arrived as the chief guest and blessed the players and inaugurated the competitions. While interacting with the players, he said that sports play an important role in the all-round development of the youth. By engaging in sports, qualities like discipline, self-confidence, tolerance and team spirit are developed in the youth.
Mr. Karan Mehta motivated the players to remain involved in sports in the future as well and gave a message to stay away from drugs. He said that sports are an effective medium to channelize the energy of the youth in a constructive direction and every youth should adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle by engaging in the sport of their choice.
On this occasion, Sports Officer Mr. Jagjivan Singh also encouraged the players and motivated them to participate in the games with complete honesty, discipline and sportsmanship.
On this occasion, Ajay Bhatt from the Education Department, Coach Neel Kamal Dhiman, Vinod Sharma and Satwinder Singh from the Government Polytechnic College, along with officials, coaches and other dignitaries from the Sports Department were present.
