Rupnagar, July 13: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Chandrajyoti Singh, while reviewing various development schemes and projects related to the Rural Development and Panchayat Department at the District Administrative Complex today, clearly instructed the concerned officers to ensure that every development work initiated by the government for the welfare of the people is completed with high quality within the stipulated time frame.

Addressing the meeting, he said that the real purpose of government schemes is to provide better facilities to the people. Therefore, unnecessary delay, negligence or lack of quality in any development work will not be tolerated. He directed the officers to regularly monitor the ongoing works by visiting the spot and ensure their completion within the stipulated time.
During the review meeting, a detailed review was taken of the progress of the ongoing works under MP LAD, Rangla Punjab Development Scheme, 15th Finance Commission and other development schemes. He said that the projects for which utilization certificates are pending should be submitted immediately so that the process of release of funds is not affected in the future.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, while reviewing the solid waste management projects, directed to further expedite the ongoing work for scientific disposal of solid waste in the villages. He said that these projects are very important for creating a clean and healthy rural environment and they should be completed on priority basis.
During the meeting, installation of solar street lights in villages, establishment of open gymnasiums, mapping of funds released for model rural playgrounds and other development works underway under the Panchayati Raj Department were also reviewed in detail.
He said that further expansion of basic facilities in rural areas, strong sports infrastructure for the youth and creation of a clean environment are the top priorities of the government. To achieve these goals, every scheme must be implemented in a transparent, time-bound and effective manner.
Chandrajyoti Singh also reviewed the ongoing development works and utilization certificates under Rangla Punjab Development Scheme and 15th Finance Commission. He directed the officers to utilize the funds as per the prescribed guidelines and complete all the records and utilization certificates in a timely manner.
He said that the district administration is committed to people-centric development and it is the top priority of the administration to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every eligible beneficiary and also to complete the development works within the stipulated time.
The meeting was attended by District Rural Development and Panchayat Officer Baljinder Singh Grewal, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Zila Parishad Amit Kumar, Ex-Panchayati Raj Avtar Singh, BDPO Rupnagar Amit Sharma, BDPO Sri Anandpur Sahib Ishan Chaudhary, BDPO Sri Chamkaur Sahib/Morinda Ajaib Singh, BDPO Nangal Manjit Singh and officers of other concerned departments.
