Sri Anandpur Sahib October 04: S. Harjot Singh Bains, the cabinet minister, was continuously demanding the repair of the National Highway from the Ministry of Road and Transportation Department to the Kiratpur Sahib-Mahitpur Himachal Pradesh border. His demand has now been fulfilled and the repair work of the National Highway up to Kiratpur Sahib and Mehitpur (Himachal Pradesh border) has started yesterday. The residents of the area thanked the cabinet minister Harjot Bains for starting the repair work of the National Highway and said that our constituency MLA Punjab’s cabinet minister Harjot Bains had repeatedly raised this issue with the central department, earlier it was likely to get approval before March 2025, but due to the lax performance of the department, people were extremely worried and due to deep potholes on the road, the drivers had to face a lot of trouble. Apart from this, big potholes often became the cause of accidents, but now the efforts of the cabinet minister have been successful and today the repair work of this national highway has started. First, the big potholes on the road will be filled and the road will be made passable. S. Bains said on this occasion that the construction and repair work of the roads under the state government of this area is being started on a large scale. He said that the work of renovation and widening of many roads is going to start. Along with the roads, bridges and culverts are also being built. He said that this road of the national highway is a project of the central government and we have been raising the issue of this road for a long time, but due to the delay by the center, the condition of the road kept getting worse and the motorists of my area were facing a lot of difficulty in traffic. Now we have repeatedly taken approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Road and Transportation and the repair work of this road has started up to the Himachal Pradesh border.
