The quality of paddy affected by floods, unseasonal rains and various diseases will be tested
Rupnagar, October 14: On the request of the Punjab Government, the Government of India has formed teams to test the quality of paddy affected by floods, unseasonal rains and various diseases across Punjab in the past few days and in view of this, a team sent by the Ministry of Food Distribution collected a total of 11 test samples of damaged and discolored paddy damaged by turmeric disease at the mandis of Rupnagar, Bela, Ghanauli and Abiana in Rupnagar district.
The team sent by the Ministry of Food Distribution includes the representative of the Government of India, Assistant Director (S.&R) Shri Y. Boa was accompanied by Deputy Director (Field), Food Supplies Department Mrs. Rajnish Kaur, District Controller, Food Supplies Mrs. Kimmy Vaneet Kaur Sethi, District Mandi Officer Mr. Surinder Pal and representatives of all procurement agencies.
Mr. Boa interacted with various farmers, arhtiyas and rice millers present in these mandis and assured that the results of these samples would be shared with the Punjab Government soon.
