Rupnagar, October 02 – On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, as per the directions of Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh, seasonal fruits, medicines and necessary items were distributed to the patients staying at the Leprosy Ashram.
On this occasion, skin diseases expert Dr. Amandeep Kaur inquired about the well-being of the patient families and made them aware about the free health services available from the health department. Dr. Amandeep Kaur informed that the government is providing free medicines to leprosy patients and 24-hour free health services are available from the District Hospital Rupnagar.
Giving information, she said that light yellow or copper-colored spots on the skin, numbness of the skin, loss of fingers and toes, inability to feel cold or hot objects, glowing face, lack of sweating etc. are the main symptoms of leprosy. If any person shows such symptoms, they should immediately contact the nearest government health center.
Mrs. Paramjit Kaur (NMS) from the Health Department was also present on this occasion.
