Sri Anandpur Sahib, November 10 : Before the 350th martyrdom anniversary celebrations of the ninth Guru of India, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, every corner of Guru Nagri Sri Anandpur Sahib will be cleaned and polished so that a clean atmosphere can be provided to the Sangat coming from the country and abroad. Therefore, from today, after bowing down and praying at Gurdwara Sish Ganj Sahib, a comprehensive cleanliness drive has been started, which will continue from 7 to 9 am daily.
This was stated by Mr. Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Education and Information and Public Relations, Punjab and MLA Shri Anandpur Sahib today on the occasion of a comprehensive cleaning campaign started with the support of the District Administration, Municipal Council’s sanitation workers, AAP leaders and workers, his team and dignitaries. He said that cooperation from every section is being sought in this campaign. The Trade Board and the Street Vendors Union are also giving their full support. He said that we are seeking cooperation from the residents of the city to make the cleaning campaign that has started from today more effective. Garbage should not be thrown around the streets and roads, the vehicles of the Municipal Council will go door to door to collect this garbage daily, which will be disposed of systematically and a pollution-free environment will be provided.

S. Bains said that we appeal to every organization, institution, and group that the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will be held in Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 19 to November 29, where a large number of devotees from the country and abroad will reach this holy city. He said that cleanliness is very important for this. Proper arrangements are being made for waste management. In addition to cleaning the streets and drains of the city, drainage of dirty water, water supply, water spraying, fogging and disinfectant spraying are being done. He said that on the occasion of the beginning today, this cleanliness campaign has received full cooperation from the residents, keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the devotees coming from the country and abroad, we have started this campaign and every corner will be made bright. Special efforts have been made to cut trees, prune, clean the road verges, and keep the parks clean. He assured that in the next 10 days, the entire Sri Anandpur Sahib and its surrounding villages and road access roads will be completely clean.
