Rupnagar, November 03: In the regional youth and folk festival of Punjabi University Patiala’s Ropar-Fatehgarh Sahib zone, which was organized at Doaba Degree College Ghatour, the artist students of Government College Ropar have brought glory to the college by giving important performances.
College Principal Jatinder Singh Gill appreciated the performances and achievements made by the students in the youth festival and congratulated the cultural committee, conveners of various items, members and the students who achieved the achievements.
Cultural Coordinator Dr. Nirmal Singh Brar said that the college participated in 57 items of the youth festival and won the overall second runner-up trophy.
He said that the college has secured first place in Jhummar, General Quiz, Installation, Bhand, Rope Pulling, Nala Weaving, Poetry Recitation, Traditional Dress Exhibition, Giddha, Ludi, Skit, Street Play, Culture Quiz, Speech, Making Clay Toys, Making Sneeze, Weaving Fan, Cartooning, Collage Making, Rangoli, Western Instrument (Solo), Western Singing (Solo) and second place in Bhangra, Group Shabad, Group Singing Indian, Western Group Singing, Clay Modeling, Poster Making, Folk Orchestra, Kali Singing and Kavishri.
The students who achieved in the youth fair expressed their happiness by taking memorable pictures with the college principal and all the staff.
