Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ropar organized a one-day training camp on natural farming

Rupnagar, November 03: Under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana and in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ropar, a one-day training camp on natural farming was organized today under the “National Mission on Natural Farming”.
45 farmers and farmer women from different areas of the district participated in this training camp. This was the ninth batch of the series of training programs being conducted under the “National Mission on Natural Farming”.

The program was organized under the supervision of Associate Director (Training) KVK Ropar Dr. Satbir Singh, who welcomed the trainees and informed them about the objective of the “National Mission on Natural Farming”.
He said that the mission aims to promote sustainable and eco-friendly farming systems that reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, maintain soil health and ensure food security. He appealed to the farmers to adopt natural farming, which will reduce the cost of farming and protect the environment and human health.

Assistant Professor (Plant Protection) Dr. Urvi Sharma and Associate Professor (Horticulture) Dr. Sanjeev Ahuja elaborated on the concept of natural farming and emphasized the use of locally available, low-cost organic solutions like Bijamrit, Jeevamrit and Neemashtar, which are used for crop nutrition and protection from diseases. Informative literature was also distributed among the farmers to encourage the adoption of low-cost farming systems, motivating them to implement natural farming techniques in their fields to increase productivity and conserve the environment.
