Rupnagar, November 02: The farmers were honored and given certificates of appreciation by the Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar, Mr. Varjit Walia, for managing paddy stubble without burning it in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner of Rupnagar, Mr. Varjit Walia, specially thanked the farmers of the district, because till now no case of paddy stubble fire has been received in Rupnagar district, which is a proof of the good and positive thinking of the farmers.
Mr. Varjit Walia also informed that due to the burning of paddy stubble, the air is polluted and the fertile elements of the soil are destroyed, and there is a risk of contracting many types of serious diseases.
He sincerely thanked the enterprising farmers participating in this event and hoped that they would contribute wholeheartedly in this holy campaign in the future as well.
The SP of the Police Department, Mr. Arvind Meena, who was also present in this event, also thanked the farmers. On this occasion, Chief Agriculture Officer Shri Lekh Raj also appreciated the efforts being made by the farmers for stubble management and thanked the farmers for their participation in this function.
On this occasion, Agricultural Engineer Jujhar Singh, ADO Dr. Sukh Sagar, ADO Kunal, ADO Baljit Singh, ADO Navdeep Singh, ADO Dilraj Singh, ASI Shamsher Singh, ASI Pavit Singh and progressive farmers of the district were present.
