Kiratpur Sahib, September 29: Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains flagged off a bus full of pilgrims from Kiratpur Sahib under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme. On this occasion, he said that the Punjab government has started this yatra to take people from different parts of the state to visit religious and historical places, under which the pilgrims are being made to visit the pilgrimage places in a convenient manner.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that it is a matter of great fortune for us that we are taking our elders to visit their religious places. He said that our elders are our heritage and our pride and it is our responsibility to respect their religious sentiments. He said that through this yatra, the elders and devotees are getting an opportunity to pay obeisance at their favorite religious places.
He said that the entire expenditure of the Chief Minister’s pilgrimage is being borne by the Punjab government. The convenience, security and other necessary arrangements of the pilgrims are also being taken care of during the journey. He said that the government’s objective is that people from all sections of the state should get the opportunity to visit religious places and no one should be deprived of it due to economic reasons.
Cabinet Minister Bains said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is taking pro-people decisions keeping in mind the needs and feelings of the people. He said that the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme is also an important initiative in this direction. On this occasion, the devotees expressed their gratitude for this initiative being taken by the Punjab government and expressed their happiness for the pilgrimage.
