SDM and Chairman Market Committee Sri Anandpur Sahib distributes relief amount of Rs 3.5 lakh to flood-affected farmers

Rupnagar, October 15: The process of distributing compensation amount to flood-affected farmers by the Punjab government was started today at village Choti Jhakhiyan of Rupnagar block. SDM Rupnagar Dr. Sanjeev Kumar distributed approval letters of Rs 3.5 lakh to flood-affected farmers of villages Choti Jhakhiyan and Badi Jhakhiyan on this occasion.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said that the Punjab government is directly transferring Rs 20 thousand per acre to the flood-affected farmers in their bank accounts.
He said that the government of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has fulfilled the promise of providing relief amount to the flood-affected farmers before Diwali and has created a record of distributing this compensation in just 30 days.
On this occasion, Chairman of Market Committee Sri Anandpur Sahib S. Kamikkar Singh Dadhi said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, fulfilling his commitment, had recently launched Mission Rehabilitation by distributing cheques of Rs. 5.70 crore to 631 farmers in Ajnala.
He said that Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, who worked shoulder to shoulder with the residents of the area during the floods, fulfilled his responsibility as a team and helped every needy person, which in itself is a great example of humanity.
He said that the Punjab government is committed to compensating for every loss of the flood-affected people and for the first time in the country, farmers are being given a relief amount of Rs. 20 thousand per acre.
Kamikkar Singh Dadhi also said that today, 13 Cabinet Ministers across the state are going to the flood-affected areas under Mission Rehabilitation and distributing approval letters of compensation amount to the beneficiaries.
The Chairman thanked the Punjab Government and Cabinet Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains. He said that the government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann stands with the people in every sorrow and joy. He added that this compensation amount for the damage caused by the floods will not only provide financial but also mental support to the affected families and soon compensation will be released to other affected farmers.
