Sri Anandpur Sahib October 15 : The campaign against war drugs launched by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug smugglers and drug smuggling from Punjab has been implemented effectively by forming defense committees in villages and wards, the impact of which is visible everywhere in the state, now the defense committees are being reconstituted to make this campaign more effective at the ground level.
This was revealed by Jaspreet Singh PCS Sub Divisional Magistrate Sri Anandpur Sahib today while reviewing the detailed meeting against drug war in the meeting hall of the office. He said that these committees were formed earlier but they have been reconstituted to work more effectively.
Sachin Pathak PCS Sub Divisional Magistrate Nangal said that to make the drug de-addiction movement more effective, the working style of the Ward Defense Committees and Rural Defense Committees formed in villages and cities has to be improved and the administration has to coordinate with them. This committee is personally going to cities and villages and selecting BDC members as per the schedule.

Harkirat Singh DSP Nangal said that thousands of people are becoming ordinary citizens by giving up drugs today. He said that if someone sells drugs near you, then inform him, the identity of the informer will be kept confidential. If someone is suffering from drug addiction, then information should also be given about him, the government will free him from addiction and get him treated. He said that efforts to nab drug smugglers and smugglers are intensifying through the war against drugs campaign. Harpreet Singh Kahlon, District Coordinator, War Against Drugs, said that the Punjab government is making unwavering efforts to eradicate drug abuse in villages and cities under the war against drugs campaign. He said that village panchs, sarpanches, members of village defense committees are participating in these camps. Hitesh Sharma, Dipu Halka Coordinator, expressed confidence that the way Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains is continuously issuing guidelines in this campaign, this campaign will be implemented more effectively.
On this occasion, Sunita Naib Tehsildar Nurpur Bedi, Mohit Vice District Coordinator, Deepak Abrol Halka Coordinator, Sanjeev Kumar Sanju, Tajinder Singh, Happy Bhangal, Billa Sehjowal, Balwinder Kaif, Vinod Rana, Rajbir Singh, Rajmukh Singh, Captain Daljit Singh, Sunil Adwal (all Halka Coordinators), Amarjit Singh BDPO Nurpur Bedi, Ishan Chaudhary BDPO, Gurdeep Singh Karya Sadhak Officer, Harpreet Singh Panchayat Secretary, Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Om Badhan Nodal Officer, Dr. Jangjit Singh Senior Medical Officer Inst., Dr. Isha Verma, Malkit Singh ASI, Harinder Singh, Balram Singh, Ajay Kumar, Kanwar Singh and officers of various departments were present.
