Kirtan Samagam to be Held on April 25 at Nehru Stadium, Rupnagar on the Occasion of 650th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji

Rupnagar, April 18: To commemorate the 650th birth anniversary (Prakash Purab) of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, the Punjab Government is initiating district-level Kirtan Samagams starting from Rupnagar district. The Kirtan Darbar will be आयोजित on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Nehru Stadium, Rupnagar, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

To ensure the smooth and effective organization of the event, Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar, Mr. Aditya Dechelvwal, chaired an important meeting with senior officials today at the District Administrative Complex.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that this sacred occasion is a unique opportunity to spread the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji—equality, brotherhood, and devotion to God—among the masses.

He stated that the theme of the Kirtan Samagam will focus on Guru Ji’s spiritual guidance, social equality, and universal humanity.

He further informed that three separate stages will be set up during the event: one central stage for the Parkash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the second for Kirtani Jathas and Ragis, and the third for eminent personalities and members of the Sant Samaj.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that full religious decorum and sensitivity must be maintained throughout the event, and suggestions from religious scholars should also be considered.

He directed all concerned departments to ensure high-quality arrangements, including clean drinking water, proper toilet facilities, a sound system, parking, and uninterrupted power supply. Additionally, instructions were given to ensure proper security arrangements, traffic management, and medical facilities.

He also stressed that floral decorations and other traditional religious arrangements should be carried out in accordance with proper maryada to maintain the sanctity of the event.

All officers present at the meeting assured that no effort will be spared to organize the event in a memorable and well-managed manner.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Chandarjyoti Singh, SDM Rupnagar Jaspreet Singh, SDM Morinda Chetan Bangar, SDM Nangal Sachin Pathak, SDM Sri Anandpur Sahib Sukhpal Singh, District Development and Panchayat Officer Baljinder Singh Grewal, District Sports Officer Jagjeevan Singh, Executive Engineer Tourism Department Surinderpal Singh, Executive Engineer PWD S.S. Bhullar, Executive Engineer Water Supply Harjeetpal Singh, ATO Sarabjeet Singh Saini, and other senior officials.
