Invitation to take maximum benefit of ‘One Time Settlement’ scheme from October 1 to December 31

Rupnagar, October 28: Under the ‘AAP Di Sarkar Aap De Duar’ campaign of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab State Traders Commission Chairman Anil Thakur today held a meeting with traders and industrialists of Rupnagar district at the committee room of the District Administrative Complex of Rupnagar and listened to their problems. On this occasion, AAP Punjab Trade Wing Secretary Ranjit Pal Singh was also specially present.
Addressing the traders and industrialists on this occasion, Chairman Anil Thakur said that the Cabinet has also approved the introduction of ‘One Time Settlement’ (OTS) Scheme 2025 (OTS) by the Punjab government for the recovery of dues to reduce the burden of old cases and increase compliance of rules for industry and businesses. This scheme will come into effect from 1st October 2025 and will remain in force till 31st December 2025. Taxpayers whose assessments have been made up to 30th September, 2025 and all the rectifications/amendments of assessment orders have been passed by the department up to 30th September, 2025 under the relevant Act(s) viz. Punjab General Sales Tax Act, 1948, Central Sales Tax Act, 1956, Punjab Infrastructure Development and Regulation Act, 2002 and Punjab VAT Act, 2005, Punjab Entertainment Duty Act, 1955 and Punjab Entertainment Tax Cinematography Shows Act, 1954, will be eligible to apply for settlement under this scheme.
He informed that this OTS Under the scheme, in cases where the tax amount is up to Rs 1 crore, there will be 100 percent exemption from interest, 100 percent waiver on penalty and 50 percent waiver on tax amount, while for outstanding tax amount between Rs 1 crore and Rs 25 crore, there will be 100 percent exemption on interest, 100 percent waiver on penalty and 25 percent waiver on tax amount. In cases where the tax amount is above Rs 25 crore, 100 percent exemption on interest, 100 percent waiver on penalty and 10 percent waiver on tax amount are being given.
He said that he is going to every district and listening to the problems of traders and industrialists so that they can be resolved at the government level. He said that the departments have been instructed not to harass traders and industries without any reason.
He also appealed that a fixed bill must be given at the time of sale of goods. He said that the ‘Bring Bills and Get Rewards’ scheme has been reactivated. He said that by including the person who loads the bill on the Mera Bill app in the lucky draw, the trend of paying bills has increased in the state.
Chairman Thakur said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Commission and the department are committed to providing a positive and comfortable environment to the traders and industrialists in the state.
On this occasion, he asked the officials present at the State GST to immediately resolve the problems raised by the traders and listen to them. He said that as per the promises made by the Chief Minister in the state by meeting the industrialists first and now the traders, they are providing them with a comfortable environment in the state and solving their problems.

The traders also thanked the Chairman and said that they did not face any kind of problem on the occasion of Diwali this year, they are very happy with the government’s policies.
Chairman Thakur said that the government and all its wings are making efforts to solve all the problems of the traders and if any trader faces any problem, he can contact them.
The Chairman listened carefully to the problems of the traders and representatives of industrial units, many of which were solved on the spot with the help of departmental officers. He also assured to solve the remaining complex issues soon.
The Chairman said that the trading class of Rupnagar is very happy with the continuous efforts being made by the Punjab Government for the trading class, for which all the trading class of the district also thanked the Punjab Government.
Mr. Thakur appealed to all the traders to cooperate in paying taxes in their respective areas so that the revenue of the state can be increased. He assured that the Punjab Government is committed to solving all the problems of the traders on priority basis.
