Rupnagar, August 03: As per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Bobby Gulati, an awareness program was organized on the occasion of Organ Donation Day at Government Senior Secondary School (Kanya), Rupnagar today. During this, teachers and students were given detailed information about the importance of organ donation and various aspects related to it.

On this occasion, District Mass Media Officer Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur and S. Ravinder Singh said that organ donation is one of the greatest services of humanity, through which many needy patients can get a new life. They said that many lives can be saved by donating eyes, kidneys, heart, liver and other organs. They said that one person can contribute in saving the lives of eight people by donating his organs after death.

He said that there are still many misconceptions and misunderstandings in the society regarding organ donation, which are very important to remove. Every person should come forward after getting correct information about this subject, so that maximum lives can be saved.
