Villagers made aware about stubble burning

Sri Chamkaur Sahib, September 19: Today, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sri Chamkaur Sahib Mr. Amrik Singh Sidhu, PCS. made the villagers of village Pipalmajra and Roorkee Hiran aware about stubble burning.

On this occasion, he informed that the cases of fire due to burning of stubble are increasing, due to which not only road accidents are increasing, but also the environment is being polluted. Apart from this, school children also face a lot of trouble while going to and from school due to smoke.

He appealed to the villagers that just as many farmers achieved higher crop production during the last season by not burning stubble, but by using it as fertilizer in the fields, in the same way, other farmers should also take this guideline. By not burning stubble, the fertility of the fields can be increased and the environment can be protected from pollution.

On this occasion, representatives of the Police Department, Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Superintendent’s Office, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Agriculture Inspector, Sri Chamkaur Sahib, representatives of the Punjab Pollution Control Board, Rupnagar, representatives of the Cooperative Societies, Rupnagar, village dignitaries and farmers were present in large numbers.
