Rupnagar Police Recovers 12 Grams of Narcotic Powder, One Arrested

Under the guidelines of Director General of Police Punjab and under the leadership of DIG Rupnagar Range Mr. Harcharan Singh Bhullar, Mr. Gurneet Singh Khurana, IPS, SSP Rupnagar said that strict action is being taken against drug smugglers and drug addicts by the District Police under the “War on Drugs” campaign.

During a special blockade and patrol, Police Station Sadar Rupnagar arrested Usha wife Balwinder resident of Golfon City, near Dharam Kanda opposite Sada Vrat Colony, Rupnagar and recovered 12 grams of narcotic powder from her possession. Apart from this, Police Station City Rupnagar arrested drug addict Prabhjot Singh alias Vicky son of Kashmir Singh resident of village Shampura and admitted him to the drug de-addiction center.

Along with this, under the project ‘Sampark’, the district police is holding meetings in the villages to make the general public aware about the harm of drugs and to strengthen police-public cooperation. During these meetings, people were made aware about the Punjab Anti-Drug Helpline and their suggestions were also received.

SSP Rupnagar has appealed to the public to cooperate with the police to eliminate anti-social elements like drugs. If anyone gets information about drug trafficking or smuggling in their area, then they can share the information on the safe Punjab Anti-Drug Helpline number 97791-00200 (WhatsApp chatbot) or the district police numbers. The name and address of the informant will be kept confidential.
