Sri Anandpur Sahib 08 October : Nitin Jaswal Executive Imp.PSPCL Sri Anandpur Sahib said that for uninterrupted power supply in Power Com Mandal Sri Anandpur Sahib, the renovation of power cables, transformers, power poles etc. will be done at a cost of 8 crores. Compared to rural areas, the demand for power is increasing rapidly in urban areas like Nangal, Sri Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib, due to which the lack of space for installing poles and transformers there is also a challenge.
The government has prepared a plan to improve the power supply system by shortening 13 feeders of the three cities. In the Nangal areas, work has been started on Indira Nagar and Poly One feeders, while new projects are underway under the RDSS scheme in Jawahar Marg, Bibhor Sahib, Giani Market and Golni.
The supply system of 1-2 feeders of Sri Anandpur Sahib city is also being upgraded so that power supply is available without interruption during the events. Similarly, strengthening of Chandesar, Dhahan and Agampur feeders is also being done.
There is a plan to divide the main feeder of Kiratpur Sahib into separate sub-feeders, which include Bharatgarh, Modra, Gajpur and Paharpur feeders. Work worth crores of rupees is being started under ULB projects.
Apart from this, 575 small and big power projects have been completed in Sri Anandpur Sahib area, which will cost crores of rupees. These include replacement of old lines, installation of new poles and transformers and replacement of cables.
The officials said that all the teams are working with full dedication to run the system smoothly. If the cooperation of the people continues, then the electricity facility of the entire region including Sri Anandpur Sahib will further improve.
