Jaspreet Singh Sub-Divisional Magistrate hoisted the national flag in Sri Anandpur Sahib
Sri Anandpur Sahib, 15th August : The Independence Day celebrations of the Sub-Division were celebrated with great enthusiasm on 15th August at Charan Ganga Stadium in Sri Anandpur Sahib. On this occasion, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jaspreet Singh hoisted the national flag. On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, the performances depicting patriotism and Punjabi culture captivated the hearts of the dignitaries, students and their parents of the city. Giddha and Bhangra added color to the celebrations. The celebrations began with Shabad singing and ended with the national anthem.

 

Addressing the countrymen on this occasion, Jaspreet Singh said that today we are celebrating the biggest festival of our country, we have got this freedom with the sacrifices of patriots. He said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Shaheed Udham Singh, Kartar Singh Sarabha, Madan Lal Dhigra, Lala Lajpat Rai and thousands of countrymen made sacrifices to give us freedom from the British rule and the tricolor which we are hoisting with pride today, this pride has been given due to the sacrifices of these freedom fighters.

He said that this festival should be celebrated by everyone together. He praised the students who participated in this ceremony and said that these students have worked hard for the last several days, the cultural and patriotic performances have filled us with enthusiasm. While honoring the students who gave various performances and their teachers and trainers, he said that it is a matter of great pride for us that our youth celebrate such festivals together. He appealed to the youth to fight against social evils and drugs. He also informed about the public welfare schemes being run by the Punjab Government and the efforts being made by the District Administration to provide these facilities to the common people. On the occasion of the ceremony, the SDM was the first to hoist the national flag, DSP Sri Anandpur Sahib Ajay Singh was also present with him.

 

The stage of the ceremony was conducted by Gurminder Singh Bhullar. Bhangra was prepared by Didar Singh Coach and Giddha by Gurdeep Kaur. The cultural program was prepared by Principal Sukhpal Kaur Wali, Principal Neeraj Kumar, Gurminder Singh Bhullar, Ranjit Singh NCS Officer, Ajay Singh, Gurdeep Kaur. The security arrangements were supervised by SHO Danishveer Singh. The venue of the ceremony was decorated in patriotic colours. On this occasion, the chief guest also felicitated the freedom fighter Nirvair Singh Arshi and freedom fighter Suraj Singh. On this occasion, Dilip Hans and Punjab Dalit Development Board were also present.
On this occasion, Gurkiran Singh PCS Civil Judge Senior Division, Vishwa Jyoti PCS Civil Judge Junior Division, Aradhika PCS Civil Judge Junior Division, Karanvir Singh Naib Tehsildar, Satish Kumar, Iqbal Singh, Barjinder Singh NCC Officer, Daya Singh Education Coordinator, Prin. Sharanjit Singh, Gurjatinderpal Singh, Harleen Kaur, Poonam Rani, Naseem Khan ASI, Major Singh, Jasdeep Singh, Pali, Barjinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Ashok Kumar, Prem Singh Basowal, Ram Parkash, Kamaljit Singh Kosler, Bunty Walia Kosler, Madan Lal Sanitary Inspector, Paramjit Singh Sonu and dignitaries were present.
