The service of painting every corner of the city in white color will start from today – Cabinet Minister
Sri Anandpur Sahib 11th November : The service of painting Guru Nagri Sri Anandpur Sahib in white color and making it a White City will start, 12th November from the bus stand and every house and commercial establishment will be painted in white by going to all the streets, markets of the city.
Giving more information in this regard, Constituency MLA and Education Minister Mr. Harjot Singh Bains said that world-class events are being organized at Sri Anandpur Sahib on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Guru of India, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. In which more than 1 crore sangat are likely to reach Sri Anandpur Sahib. Due to which all arrangements are being completed on a large scale by the Punjab government for the convenience of the sangat. Under this series, from today, every corner of Sri Anandpur Sahib is being painted in white. Baba Satnam Singh Ji will start the process by offering prayers at the feet of Guru Sahib at Qila Anandgarh Sahib. All the youth clubs, panches, sarpanches, all AAP office bearers, dignitaries and councilors of the constituency have been appealed to participate in this service.
S. Bains said that all the senior officers of the district including Deputy Commissioner of District Rupnagar Mr. Varjit Walia, SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana will be specially present in this service. He said that with the help of donors, more than 20 thousand liters of white paint have been collected, with which the beauty of the city will be further enhanced. He has appealed to all the residents of the city to cooperate in this campaign so that the Guru city of Sri Anandpur Sahib, the place of joy, can be made a White City.
