First case registered
Rupnagar, October 13 : Taking action against the long-standing looting of farmers by distributors in the name of forcing to sell boosters along with fertilizers in Rupnagar district, a case was registered against rack handler Manpreet Singh (Soi Kheti Seva Center) at Police Station City Rupnagar on the complaint of Chief Agriculture Officer of the Agriculture Department, Rupnagar Dr. Gurmail Singh.
Giving information in this regard by holding a press conference, the MLA of Rupnagar, Advocate Mr. Dinesh Chadha said that farmers were being looted for a long time in the district and various types of products were being forcefully sold along with fertilizers to the farmers, the price of which was also very high and the price of many products was even more than a bag of fertilizers. He said that in this regard, farmers usually used to fight with fertilizer retailers and shopkeepers, but in reality, the big distributors used to force these shopkeepers or retailers to tag those products and force the shopkeepers to give those products to the farmers.
MLA Chadha said that the Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Agriculture Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian have strict instructions that in no case should the farmers face any problem and neither should they be allowed to be looted at any level, but all kinds of facilities should be provided to the food provider of Punjab at the ground level.
