Rupnagar, October 14: Surya, a student of Government College Rupnagar, has brought glory to the college and the district by winning a gold medal in the 10th Senior National Gatka Championship-2026 held in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. There is an atmosphere of joy in the college with this proud achievement of the student.

For this wonderful achievement, the college principal, Madam Gunjit Kaur, specially honored student Surya. She congratulated Surya and said that such achievements are the result of the hard work, dedication, discipline and determination of the students. She motivated the student to continue working hard in the same way in the future as well and achieve more great things.

On this occasion, Principal Madam Gunjit Kaur also specially congratulated Surya’s coach S. Kuljit Singh and appreciated the efforts made in training the student, providing proper guidance and preparing him.

Surya’s achievement has also served as an inspiration to other students of the college. This success shows that with hard work, discipline and dedication, proud achievements can be achieved in the field of sports at the national level as well.

On this occasion, Professor Harjit Singh, Dr. Harmandeep Kaur of the Physical Education Department and other teachers of the college were also present. All the teachers congratulated Surya for this achievement and wished him a bright future.
