Two-day district-level training on HMIS and RCH online data management organized

Rupnagar, October 28: Strengthening digital health management, the Punjab Government and the Health and Family Welfare Department organized a two-day district-level training on HMIS (Health Management Information System) and RCH (Reproductive and Child Health) online data management in district Rupnagar.
This training was organized at Government Nursing College Rupnagar, which was presided over by Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh.
Information Assistants and Block Statistical Assistants of all the blocks of the district participated in this special training, who were briefed in detail by experienced trainers regarding online data entry, reporting, record updating, quarterly and monthly data analysis and monitoring of health services.
The chief guest of the training was Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh said in his address that HMIS and RCH system act as the backbone for proper planning, monitoring and evaluation of health services. He said that accurate data plays a major role in the success of every health program of the government. Where the data is accurate and updated on time, the most effective action can be taken towards improving maternal and child health, reducing disease rates and ensuring access to health facilities.
He further said that it is very important for the staff working at the block and health center levels to get involved in data management so that there is no error in the data and the performance of the programs improves. He appealed to all the participants who attended the training to take full advantage of the technical information.

On this occasion, detailed sessions were conducted by District Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Lakhbir Singh as the Master Trainer on the continuous effective functioning of HMIS and RCH portal, data security, login access, user roles and case-based data update.
During the training, a roadmap was also prepared to resolve technical problems related to data entry and to convey the central and state level instructions to the field level. The participants, while sharing their experiences, described such training as very useful and said that it will increase their performance.
Finally, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anjali Chaudhary congratulated everyone and said that linking government health services with a digital model is the need of the hour and Rupnagar district is playing a leading role in this area. She hoped that through quality of data and timely uploading, the delivery of health programs will be further strengthened and better health services will be provided to the people.
On this occasion, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Bobby Gulati, District Vacc training ination Officer Dr. Navroop Kaur, SMO Dr. Amarjit Singh DDHO Dr. Rajneet Bains, Principal Government Nursing College Madam Dildeep Kaur and BCC Coordinator Sukhjit Kamboj were present.
