Rupnagar, October 6: The 69th two-day inter-school district level school athletics games concluded with pomp today at Government College Rupnagar. These games were organized under the able guidance of District Education Officer Rupnagar Mr. Prem Kumar Mittal, under the supervision of Mrs. Sharanjit Kaur District Sports Coordinator and under the supervision of Convener S. Kulwinder Singh, Principal Khalsa Senior Secondary School Rupnagar.
On the second day, exciting competitions in running, jumping, throwing and other sports were held in different categories of boys. At the end of the games, the chief guest Mr. Jatinder Singh Gill, Principal Government College Rupnagar along with Mrs. Sharanjit Kaur, District Sports Coordinator and S. Kulwinder Singh honored the winning athletes by presenting medals and certificates.
This occasion was specially graced by Vice-Convenor S. It was a matter of pride for Varinder Singh Saini and the entire organizing team, who made a significant contribution to making the games a success.
Giving information about the results, Mr. Narinder Singh Banga (State Awardee) said that in the long jump, Lakhwinder Singh Ghanauli won the first place with a jump of 5.80 meters, while Mayank (Purba Nurpur Bedi) stood second and Rajinder Pratap Singh (Bhalan) stood third. In the triple jump, Amarjit Kumar and Amandeep Singh (both from Rupnagar) secured the first two places respectively.
In the 100 meter race, Tishan Saini (Anandpur Sahib) stood first and Suriya Kant (Rupnagar) stood second. In the 200 meter race, Rajvir Singh stood first and Tishan Saini stood second.
In the success of the athletics meet, S. Inderjit Singh (Track Event Incharge), S. Special contribution was made by teachers like Mr. Rajveer Singh (Throw Event Incharge), Mr. Gurvinder Singh (Jump Incharge), Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur (Zonal Secretary Rupnagar), Mrs. Davinder Kaur, Mr. Manjinder Singh, Mr. Deepak Kumar Rana, Mr. Ravinder Singh, Mr. Paramjit Singh, Mr. Gurinderjit Singh Mann, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Mr. Davinder Singh, Mrs. Ranveer Kaur and Mrs. Dharminder Kaur.
