Training on Primary Health Care for Aam Aadmi Clinic StaffRupnagar, November 07: Under the directions of Civil Surgeon Rupnagar Dr. Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh and under the leadership of Nodal Officer Ayushman Arogya Kendra/Aam Aadmi Clinic Dr. Amarjit Singh, refresher training was provided to the medical officers and clinical assistants working in Aam Aadmi Clinics at the Training Center Office Civil Surgeon Rupnagar.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sukhwinderjit Singh said that district-level refresher training is being provided to the medical officers and clinical assistants of Aam Aadmi Clinics on primary health care services for five health services running in Aam Aadmi Clinics within the district. He said that the main objective of starting these services in Aam Aadmi Clinics is to provide accessible primary health services to the patients near their homes. He said that the Punjab government is now conducting a total of 47 tests in Aam Aadmi clinics and 107 types of medicines are available in Aam Aadmi clinics.
The Civil Surgeon said that due to poor lifestyle, non-communicable diseases are being seen in the state, hence the Punjab government is emphasizing on the need to provide non-communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer screening and treatment, vaccination to prevent rabies, early identification of malnourished children, treatment and management services in Aam Aadmi clinics.
On this occasion, Nodal Officer Dr. Amarjit Singh said that the medical officers and clinical assistants of Aam Aadmi Clinic were sensitized about providing basic health services in Aam Aadmi Clinic. He said that the health department is committed to providing better health services to the common people. With the start of five more health services in Aam Aadmi Clinic, people are getting benefit. He said that we need to control non-communicable diseases, prevention of these diseases is proving to be a boon for the common man.

Giving information about anti-rabies vaccination for dog bites on this occasion, he said that the Punjab government is taking steps to further strengthen anti-rabies vaccination to protect against rabies. He said that negligence of a dog or any other animal bite to a person can prove dangerous, therefore anti-rabies vaccine is administered free of cost for treatment.
Medical Specialist Dr. Puneet Saini while addressing said that the welfare of citizens is possible by getting tested for early diagnosis of non-communicable diseases and ensuring timely treatment. He said that non-communicable diseases are usually long-term diseases which take time to cure, continuous and timely testing of such diseases is very important. Therefore, with this initiative, people can be tested and treated.
On this occasion, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anjali gave detailed information about the means of family planning. District Dental Officer Dr. Rajneet Bains gave information about oral cancer and cancer screening. On this occasion, Pediatrician Dr. Gursewak Singh gave information about early identification and treatment management of malnourished children.
On this occasion, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Navroop Kaur, Gynecologist Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, District Mass Media Officer Gurmeet Kaur, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ravinder Singh and Ritu, District Program Officer Doli Singla and all the medical officers of Aam Aadmi Clinics were present.
