Rupnagar, 5 October 2025 – Under the guidance of Dr. Anhad Singh Gill, Program Coordinator, National Service Scheme Department, Punjabi University Patiala, a seven-day special camp was organized by five units of NSS under the patronage of Principal Dr. Jatinder Singh Gill at Government College Rupnagar and concluded today.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Principal Dr. Jatinder Singh Gill. He highly appreciated the social service work, teamwork and discipline done by the volunteers during the camp and congratulated all the program officers.
Prof. Kuldeep Kaur, while presenting a detailed report of the camp, said that the volunteers worked on many projects related to cleanliness campaign, anti-drug awareness campaigns, awareness seminars in villages and social service during the seven days.
On this occasion, volunteer Simranjot Kaur shared her experiences regarding the camp. Volunteer Prabhjot Kaur performed folk songs, Deepshikha performed poetry and Simran performed a beautiful song, captivating everyone. Prof. Ravneet Kaur expressed her gratitude while Prof. Loveleen Verma performed the role of stage management.
During the prize distribution ceremony, all the volunteers were honored with medals. The best volunteer girls — Trisha, Deepshikha, Harman, Prabhjot Kaur and Harshpreet Kaur — while the best volunteer boys — Navpreet Singh, Navneet Singh, Kushal Anand, Aniket and Jashanpreet Singh — were honored with trophies. The title of best group was given to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Group.
The camp ended with a message of selfless social service, which inspired the younger generation towards nation building and service spirit.
The success of the camp was attributed to Program Officer Prof. Jagjit Singh, Prof. Chandragupta, Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Gurpreet Kaur, Prof. Taranjot Kaur, Prof. Manpreet Kaur and Dr. Mandeep Kaur made important contributions.
On this occasion, the Vice Principal of the college Prof. Harjit Singh, College Council Member Prof. Meena Kumari, Cultural Coordinator Dr. Nirmal Singh Brar and College Bursar Dr. Dalwinder Singh were specially present.
