Sri Anandpur Sahib, January 26: On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, on the occasion of the Sub-Divisional level Republic Day celebrations, SDM Jaspreet Singh PCS hoisted the national tricolor at the grounds of Charan Ganga Stadium Sri Anandpur Sahib and took salute from the parade.
On this occasion, Jaspreet Singh, in his address to the countrymen, congratulated everyone on the 77th Republic Day of the country. He said that the Punjabi heroes made the most sacrifices in the country’s freedom struggle and we are proud of the fact that after liberating the country, the country needed its own constitution to make it a republic in the true sense. Making a constitution for this diverse and vast country was a great task in itself. Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji made the biggest contribution to completing this task.
He said that after this, our Constitution came into effect on this day in the year 1950. Therefore, this is a very important day for all the countrymen. He said that this day is even more proud for Punjabis. Punjabi heroes made the most sacrifices in the freedom struggle. He said that Baba Maharaj Singh, Baba Ram Singh, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Udham Singh, Kartar Singh Sarabha, Madan Lal Dhingra, Diwan Singh Kalepani and hundreds of other such warriors are there who created the history of independent India. He said that Punjab made an unparalleled contribution in the progress of the country.
He said that today it is the duty of all of us to be ready for every sacrifice to maintain the independence of our country which our freedom fighters have achieved with their great sacrifices. He said that I have received this honor today on the occasion of Republic Day on the historical and holy land of Sri Anandpur Sahib. He told about the development of Guru Nagri that Panj Pyara Park, Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial and many other big projects have been dedicated to the people. Crores of rupees have been spent on these. Extensive programs have been drawn up by the Punjab government for education and health improvement. The march past at today’s ceremony was led by Captain Sandeep Kumar, Parade Commander of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College, and the stage was conducted by Gurminder Singh Bhullar.
On this occasion, Giddha, Bhangra, cultural and patriotic performances filled the time, Rangoli and tableaux showing the progress of the departments of Block Development and Panchayat Officer Sri Anandpur Sahib, Forest Range Officer Sri Anandpur Sahib, Agriculture Officer, Child Development and Project Officer Sri Anandpur Sahib, Senior Medical Officer Civil Hospital, Block Primary Education Officer were the attractions of the ceremony. On this occasion, Shabad singing and national anthem were sung by the students of Khalsa School. The ceremony ended with the national anthem. Prominent personalities were honored on this occasion. Struggle warrior Nirvair Singh Arshi was specially honored.
Students from Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College, Sri Dasmes Academy, S.G.S. Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Bhai Nand Lal Public School, School of Eminence, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Government High School, Sri Guru Har Krishna Public School participated in the march past. In the cultural and patriotic performances, the first Shabad singing was done by S.G.S. Khalsa Senior Secondary School and Sant Baba Sewa Singh Khalsa Model School, Government High School Dasgrani and Government Primary School Gambhirpur, Sri Guru Har Krishna Public School, S.G.S. Khalsa Senior Secondary School, School of Eminence, Anmol Shiksha Kendra gave performances. A magnificent Bhangra was prepared by the Bhangra coach. The ceremony was concluded with the national anthem by S.G.S. Khalsa Senior Secondary School.
