Nangal/Sri Anandpur Sahib January 20: The “Yudh Nasheyan Virud Phase-2” campaign being run by the Punjab Government under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuing on a large scale across the state. This campaign is being effectively implemented at the ground level under the leadership of S. Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Education and Information and Public Relations Department Punjab.
Under this link, anti-drug awareness yatras were conducted in many villages and wards including Harsabela, Daroli Lower, Nimoh Upper, Kiratpur Sahib Ward No. 7, Bara Pind Upper, Diwari, Mangewal, Pasiwal, Mojowal, Anandpur Sahib Ward No. 55, Jhinjri Lower, Lamlahari and Massewal. During these yatras, people were made aware about the ill effects of drugs and were called upon to make joint efforts for the creation of a drug-free society.
District Coordinator Harpreet Singh and Deputy Coordinator Mohit Diwan said that this campaign is getting overwhelming response from the people and people from all walks of life are coming forward to realize the dream of a drug-free Punjab. They said that the active participation of youth, women and elders is the biggest strength of this campaign.
On this occasion, the constituency coordinator of “Yudh Nasheyan Virud” Hitesh Sharma Deepu said that the Punjab government is working with full determination to eradicate drugs from the root. He said that unless every person in the society joins this campaign, then the goal of a drug-free Punjab cannot be achieved.
He appealed to the people to be a part of this great campaign against drugs and cooperate by providing information to the administration about the elements spreading drugs in their vicinity.
