Rupnagar Police recovers 6 kg poppy husk, arrests drug addicts and gamblers
Rupnagar, September 25: Rupnagar Police recovers 6 kg poppy husk, arrests drug addicts and gamblers.
Giving information about this, SSP Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana said that Rupnagar Police has taken several actions under the ongoing campaign “War on Drugs” against drug smugglers and anti-social elements.
The SSP said that during the war on drugs campaign, the police have arrested a drug addict, while another person was arrested and more than 6 kg poppy husk was recovered from him. Apart from this, a case was registered against a person under the Gambling Act and he was also arrested.
He said that the police of the city police station Rupnagar arrested Sukhwinder Singh alias Pavitra, a resident of Plasi Kalan, district Solan (Himachal Pradesh) and recovered more than 6 kg of poppy husk from him. The police of the city police station Morinda arrested a drug addict Deepak Chand, a resident of Baldev Nagar, Morinda and registered a case against him under the NDPS Act.

 

He further said that the police of the Nangal police station, on the basis of confidential information, arrested Sagar Malik, a resident of DDSE Block Nangal, who was running a bidi-cigarette shop and was doing betting. Rs. 610 was recovered from him and a case was registered against him under the Gambling Act.
SSP Rupnagar appealed to the public to fully cooperate with the police to end the menace of drugs.
