PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ropar sensitizes school students on stubble management
Rupnagar, October 28: PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ropar organized an awareness camp on the importance of crop residue management for school students under the leadership of Director Extension Education PAU and ICAR Attari, Zone-1, Ludhiana.
The program was organized at Government Girls Senior Secondary School Sri Anandpur Sahib. More than 120 girl students participated in this program with enthusiasm.
The event was organized under the leadership of Associate Director (Training) Dr. Satbir Singh. The objective of this event was to create awareness among the youth about Crop Residue Management (CRM) and sustainable farming practices and climate adaptation strategies. It featured a series of interesting activities including poster-making, slogan writing, essay competition, a skit, which was centered around the topic of crop residue management in agriculture.

 

In addition, a rally was taken out in the village, in which the girl students held banners and raised slogans to spread the message of eco-conscious farming. The rally not only inspired the local community but also motivated them about the importance of climate-smart farming.
The girl students were provided with educational literature, awareness materials and other informative items to enhance their knowledge.
KVK experts Professor (Animal Science) Dr. Aparna and Demonstrator (Home Science) Smt. Manpreet Kaur interacted with the students and highlighted the role of youth in promoting sustainable farming practices.
The program ended with a promise to adopt and promote climate-resilient technologies, making it a meaningful step towards creating a clean and green future.
