Paddy procurement continues in Sri Anandpur Sahib mandis
Sri Anandpur Sahib October 14 : Under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, proper arrangements have been made for the procurement of paddy in the mandis. The arrival of paddy in the grain mandis of Sri Anandpur Sahib has picked up speed. Procurement agencies are also making purchases without any hindrance.
This information was given by Market Committee Sri Anandpur Sahib Secretary Narinder Singh today after reviewing the arrangements in the grain mandi. He said that the Punjab government led by Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann had given instructions to make all arrangements in the mandis before starting the procurement of paddy. District Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varjit Walia had also given orders to complete all arrangements for the convenience of the farmers in the mandis. A total of 12 grain markets under Sri Anandpur Sahib, Agampur, Kiratpur Sahib, Takhtgarh, Nurpur Bedi, Nangal, Surewal, Abiana, Sukhemajra, Dumewal, Ajoli, Kalwa, Mahain have arrangements for drinking water, sanitation, lighting etc. Paddy procurement is going on daily in the grain markets.
He said that there is no shortage of gunny in the markets. Lifting and other arrangements have been made simultaneously.
The Secretary further said that till now a total of 3176 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the 12 grain markets. The arrival of the crop is continuing continuously, till now Pangrain has purchased 803 metric tons, Markfed 2081 metric tons, FCI 292 metric tons of paddy.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sri Anandpur Sahib Jaspreet Singh is also continuously monitoring the procurement arrangements. Education Minister Harjot Bains is monitoring the procurement of farmers’ crops and special Girdawari of the crops damaged due to rains in his assembly constituency on a daily basis and keeping a close eye on the latest situation so that the farmers do not face any difficulty.
