There will be no tuition fee for SC and ST students
Rupnagar, August 21: Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar IAS Shri Varjeet Walia informed that direct admissions have been announced for the vacant seats at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIALT) Deemed University Ropar for the session 2025-26, the last date of which will be 04 September 2025.
He informed that NIALT Deemed University Ropar is the only university of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology of the Central Government which is located in Ropar. In this, for the three-year Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering course, the student must have at least 50 percent (45 percent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes) marks in class X. Students wishing to apply can reach NILETT University, Bara Phool Ropar by 04-09-2025 and fill the form, while the tuition fee is completely waived for Scheduled Castes.
The Deputy Commissioner said that this deemed university is an institution of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, which is providing formal and non-formal education in the field of IT/Computer and Electronics, which has more than 40 centers of NILETT in different states of India, for which students should take maximum advantage of the NILETT Rupnagar institution in their area.
He said that the eligibility for Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering is 10th pass, which is certified by All India Council for Technical Education (AICT).
He said that after taking admission in this university, one will get excellent job opportunities in three years, after the diploma one will be able to get admission in B.Tech third semester directly, along with theoretical knowledge, emphasis will be given to practical education and over time, one will be able to meet the needs of the technical sector.
He said that income opportunities will open up for the student, with technical education and skill development, more opportunities will be available in the IT sector in a short time and this course meets the global demand for technical professionals, especially in the IT sector.
