Naya Nangal: NCC Unit Naya Nangal Organizes ‘Vande Mataram’ Memorial Event

Naya Nangal, November 21, 2025 — Punjab Naval Unit NCC, Naya Nangal, under the leadership of Captain (IN) Harjit Singh Deol, organized a grand ‘Vande Mataram Memorial’ programme at Government Swalik College, Naya Nangal. More than 200 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges participated in the event.

The programme included patriotic song competitions, group singing, poster-making contests, and several performances reflecting national spirit and cultural pride. The cadets’ collective singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ added to the dignity and glory of the occasion.
For special coverage of the event, NCC Unit Naya Nangal arranged drone photography and HD video recording, which has been uploaded to the portal of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Sharing details about the event, the Unit’s Commanding Officer, Captain Harjit Singh Deol, informed the cadets that the programme was organized to mark the 150th year of the creation of the patriotic hymn “Vande Mataram”, written in 1875 by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. He added that such programmes strengthen the spirit of national pride, discipline, and leadership among the youth.
GCI Sukhleen Kaur played an important role in managing the arrangements of the event.
