Legal Awareness Seminar and Camp Organized on the Occasion of 'Legal Services Day'
Rupnagar, November 10: As per the instructions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, on the directions of District and Sessions Judge Rupnagar Smt. Manjot Kaur and CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Smt. Amandeep Kaur, a ‘Legal Awareness Seminar and Camp’ was organized at Girls’ ITI on the occasion of National Legal Services Day.
On this occasion, CJM Smt. Amandeep Kaur gave information about the establishment of ‘Legal Services Day’ and ‘Legal Services Authority Act’ and said that the authority provides free legal aid to the economically weaker sections against injustice so that no poor citizen is deprived of getting justice. In free legal aid, the services of lawyers are provided free of cost. A toll free number- 15100 has also been issued for free legal services.

On this occasion, Panel Advocate Ms. Harpreet Kaur said that against crimes against children, Child Help Line-1098 can be called, against atrocities against women, Women Help Line-1091 and for police assistance, Police Help Line-112 can be called.
She also said that on 13 December 2025, a National Lok Adalat is being organized at Rupnagar Sri Anandpur Sahib, Nangal, in which pending cases of the courts will be disposed of. On this occasion, detailed information was given about various welfare schemes to raise the social and economic status of women, children and workers and awareness materials were also distributed.
